Multifaith room transformed with new stained glass window

A beautiful new stained glass window now brings light and reflection to the Multifaith Room at RNOH in Stanmore.

Designed and crafted by hospital volunteer David Giddons and open to personal reflection by all who visit, the piece was inspired by silver birch trees, evoking land and sky in calming tones.

Materials for the new window were supported by RNOH Charity, with the stunning results unveiled this week by David and RNOH Chief Nurse, Professor Louise Morton.

At the ceremony, RNOH Trust Chaplain, Father Paul, said: “This room has been designated as a space for all faiths and for those of no particular faith. That’s not just a slogan, it’s a deep and important truth. In the bustle and noise of corridors and machines, this room remains a quiet place for the soul. And every soul matters. For some, this will be a place to sit and pray. For others, it’s a space for reflection, to breathe deeply, to be still, or to draw strength before returning to a busy ward or a difficult decision. Our stained glass window becomes a new focal point in this shared space."

We send our congratulations to David on such a wonderful piece.
